Before and during the performance, we collected $129 in hot dog sales, $155 in pastry table sales, $46 in coffee and tea sales, $95 in popcorn and soda sales, and $204 in merchandise sales. We also received donations of $42 for the senior sweater fund and $31 for the museum. (That totals $702 and all we had to do was show up!) The performance began on time and ran a little longer than some previous years. The JROTC began the show with a color guard and a sweet rendition of our national anthem, a drum corps performance, and girls’ and boys’ squads performances of coordinated movements and yells. The first half featured a comedian and a classical pianist. Following intermission, the New Drifters performed their songs. By all accounts, the performance was very well received. During the first half, I did a rough head count and arrived at 130, and I expect even more next year. Notes: Ed |
