Edwin R. (Ed) Baker. F" 59 Ed was born in San Francisco; raised in the Mission District (South Van Ness and 18th Street); attended Hawthorne Elementary and Horace Mann Junior High School; moved to Daly City and attended Freshman and Sophomore years at Jefferson Union High School; moved back to the City and began his Junior year at Balboa (Spring 1958); got held back and graduated in the class of Fall 1959. He served in the U.S. Navy and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer. He worked for a savings and loan in South Florida. Returning to California, he worked for Nabisco in Hayward until they closed, then moved to San Francisco where he worked for UCSF until retirement. In 1990 the current treasurer, Jerry Skagfjord F'64 was moving to Arizona. Ed was elected the Alumni treasurer and now is in his nineteenth year on the board of directors.


Sandy Carlomagno Silva, S' 63 Sandy was born in San Francisco and attended Hillcrest Elementary School and Portola Junior High School. After graduating from Balboa she worked for Bank of America both on Mission Street and Van Ness. She is still currently keeping busy working for a real estate company part time. She married her classmate Bill Kearney, S'63 who is deceased and they had two daughters. She has two wonderful sons-in-law and four beautiful grandchildren. You will find her doing one of her favorite things which is singing the senior song with her two grand-daughters at Move-Up. They love Move-Up, where grandma gives them the job of handing out the pom-poms every year. She is proud to be a Balboa Alumni Board of Directors member since 2005.


Don Garduno, S'63 Don was raised in the Excelsior District. He attended Guadalupe Elementary, both Denman and Luther Burbank Junior High. While at Balboa he played quarterback on the first football team (1962) under Archie Chagonjian as head coach. He also ran high and low hurdles. He played the sax in the school dance band and clarinet in the school band. After Balboa he attended San Francisco City College. He is now retired. He has 1 daughter, 2 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and 1 great-grandson. In 2005 he became an active board member in the Balboa Alumni Association.


Patricia Kenney Perruguet, F' 53 Patricia was born in San Francisco and was raised in the Crocker Amazon area. She attended Guadalupe Elementary, Denman Junior High School. After Balboa she attended Skyline College. She married Robert Perruquet over 50 years ago and they had 2 children (1 is deceased) and have 2 grandsons. Before retiring she worked for an advertising agency where she was a financial supervisor. She was recruited during a Balboa cruise in 1979 and became an active member of the Balboa Alumni Board of Directors. She is also involved with the San Francisco Zoo and the Academy of Sciences.


Vickie Jargoyhen, S'66 Vickie was bom in San Francisco in 1948; raised in the Excelsior District and is still in the neighborhood. She attended Monroe Elementary, Luther Burbank Junior High and Balboa. All her brothers & her sister are Balboa grads and also still in the neighborhood. She attended San Francisco City College and received an Associate Arts degree. She worked for Pacific Bell for a short time and then worked at the downtown Emporium for 10 years and is now working at Simply Uniforms (where the Alumni purchases the current Senior Sweaters). She became active in the Alumni Association in 1991 holding the office of Assistant Executive Secretary. She is now the Executive Secretary and Gofer. She is also known as Vickie J.


Greg Price, F'66 Greg was born in San Francisco; raised in the Ingleside district. He attended Farragut Elementary and Aptos Junior High. While at Balboa he played on the basketball team and was a member of the 1967 Championship Team. After Balboa he attended City College. He worked for the Department of Public Works and Laguna Honda where he is currently employed. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for many years.
